A SCHOOL club in Kidlington is providing a safe environment for children to play and learn, Ofsted has concluded.
Magpies Edward Field, based at Edward Field Primary School, has been rated 'good' in all categories following a visit from inspectors in January.
The club currently looks after 40 children aged between three and 11-years-old.
It runs during term time before and after the school day, and operates a play scheme during school holidays.
Ofsted's report, published last week, said: "Staff robustly check all indoor and outdoor areas before children arrive, which helps keep children safe and well.
"Staff foster strong partnerships with the on-site school and nursery staff.
"Staff provide lots of messy play activities for the children.
"For example, children enjoy painting, cornflour and water play.
"They enjoy sitting on the sofa with the staff and listening to stories about their favourite characters."
