FARE increases have been introduced across services run by Oxford Bus Company.

Tickets have gone up by between 10p and 30p on city centre buses and for trips from Oxford to Abingdon.

The cheapest returns in Oxford city will now cost £3 for adults and £1.50 for children, up from £2.80 and £1.40 respectively.

The bus company said the increases were needed 'to ensure we can cope with increasing operating costs.'

Passengers can avoid the rises until the end of February by downloading a new app.
