SEVERAL multinational companies will be hoping to inspire school students to take up careers in science and technology at an event today.
St Birinus School in Didcot is hosting employers including the National Grid, European Space Agency and BMW at its careers fair, supported by Harwell Campus.
The event is aiming to inspire students in years 9-13 from both Didcot Girls’ School and St Birinus Boys School to consider pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and maths or in supporting sectors such as marketing and investment.
All of the organisations attending have a base locally and are some of the major employers in the region.
Angus Horner, director at Harwell Campus and governor of St Birinus School said “We are delighted to be involved - we love what we do and want to help young people make informed and ambitious choices as they move forward in life so they can be happy and successful in their own careers.”
The event will be held in the Didcot Leisure Centre from 5.30pm-7.30pm.
