BENEFIT claimants have been assured of continued help from their district council after the rollout of the Government’s Universal Credit system in West Oxfordshire.
The changes, which see several benefits and tax credits merged into a single payment, have proved controversial and some have complained of being forced to wait longer than they are able to wait for the money.
West Oxfordshire District Council says its officers will continue to be on hand to offer general advice after last month's rollout and assist people with setting up their own accounts and with online form filling.
Benefit applicants will also be able to use computer terminals in council reception areas.
And an appointment can be made with a client support officer who can advise on personal budgeting and help with online job searches and applications.
