CUSTOMERS at a Witney supermarket can continue to support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal by recycling their poppy in store.
For the fifth year running, Sainsbury’s, in Witan Way, will be providing the recycling service - which allows material used in poppies to be re-purposed.
Sainsbury’s is the only retailer providing the service aimed at supporting the environment and provide further support to the RBL.
Kevin Morton, store manager at Sainsbury’s Witney, said: “The Poppy Appeal was a great success this year for fundraising and we’d like to thank everyone who contributed.
“With this recycling initiative, we wanted to show our customers another way they can support the Royal British Legion and make sure their poppies don’t go to waste. We hope the recycling drive proves a success with our customers”.
Sainsbury’s has supported the RBL for the past 23 years.
In 2016, customers and colleagues helped raise more than £3.2 million for the charity.
