AN after-school club near Witney has made progress months after being deemed ‘inadequate’.

Daffodil Nursery After School Club in Long Hanborough was given Ofsted’s lowest rating in June, but has now been praised by the education watchdog for making improvements.

The club runs at The Pavillion in Roosevelt Road, and currently looks after 21 children aged between four and eight.

Following an inspection in May, Ofsted’s earlier report said: “The provider does not ensure that effective safeguarding procedures are in place to protect children’s identity when using social media. Security at the premises is weak.”

But the new report, published on Saturday after a follow-up inspection in September, said: “The provider understands the value of evaluating her practice and has addressed actions raised at the last inspection regarding safety and staff deployment.”

It said quality and standards of the early years provision had been met.

The club will likely be reinspected within six months and rated again.
