Oxford author Imogen Matthews will give a talk on her novel The Hidden Village at Headington Library.

Born in Rijswijk, Holland, to a Dutch mother and English father, the family moved to England when she was a child.

Her book was inspired by holidays back to Holland and the Veluwe woods in particular.

It was here that she discovered the story of the hidden village, which together with her mother’s vivid stories of life in WWII Holland, formed the basis of her book.

The free talk is on 14 September at 6pm.
