A HOTEL in Oxfordshire has received a certificate of excellence thanks to guests posting positive reviews online.

The Oxford Belfry near Thame was given the award by TripAdvisor, which uses comments on its website to rank establishments across the country.

Julian White, general manager of the hotel, was delighted to receive an award dictated by the public.

He said: “TripAdvisor’s certificate of excellence award is based on real feedback from the people that matter most to us, our customers.

“It’s wonderful recognition for the team here, who work incredibly hard to exceed our customers’ expectations and offer a truly memorable experience each and every time.

"The fact that the number of hotels across the group receiving certificates of excellence rose from 15 last year to 18 this year speaks volumes about the high standards that underpin everything we do.”

The Oxford Belfry features 17 conference rooms, 154 bedrooms, bar and restaurant, and spa and on-site leisure facilities, making it a popular choice for guests looking for short breaks or special getaways.

It’s one of 18 hotels in the QHotels group to receive the accolade - a record number for the group, which owns 26 hotels across the UK.
