THE thousands of Oxford’s tax credit claimants are being urged to renew their claim as the deadline fast approaches.
In Oxford East there are 2,500 claimants and in Oxford West and Abingdon there are 7,500 claimants for tax credits.
Across the whole of the south east there are 425,100 claimants with the HM Revenue and Customs scheme.
Last year 410,000 people had their payment stopped or altered because they missed the July 31 deadline.
Failure to renew before the deadline could mean payments are stopped.
Visit gov.uk/browse/benefits/tax-credits for information on renewing.
