FURRY and four-legged friends drew smiles on care home residents.

Oaken Holt estate’s much-loved farm day returned over the weekend, bringing a Shetland pony, ducks, rabbits, goats and lambs to the home in Farmoor.

Farms2ewe brought the animals in their droves to delight and entertain residents and their families.

Stalls and games were also laid on.

While having a tour of Oaken Holt Oxford West and Abingdon MP Layla Moran was introduced to the creatures.

She said: “ It was lovely to meet residents and their families, as well as the dedicated staff, at such a caring home.

“The Farm Day was a wonderful event and I am very much looking forward to my next visit to Oaken Holt.”

Oaken Holt provides residential and nursing care for up to 55 residents.

Care home manager Sherrie Hume said: “It was a lovely day and a pleasure to welcome our new local MP to come and have a look around the estate.

“The residents enjoyed petting the rabbits and ducklings, and for those residents that were unable to attend, the people from Farms2ewe took rabbits and ducks to the rooms.

“As always the visiting relatives really enjoyed the Farm Day.”
