CUSTOMERS of an electronics store in Botley might see a familiar face on their big screens.

A long-serving staff member at Currys PC World in Botley Road is set to star on the company’s television advert.

Justin Walden, who has worked at the branch for more than 15 years, will join six other colleagues from across the country to plug summer deals.

He was shortlisted from hundreds of hopefuls to appear in the national television campaign, which airs throughout summer from July 12.

Currys spokesperson Camilla Lambert said Mr Walden’s ‘impressive audition and answers to questions’ earned him the spot, in which he discusses various deals.

The 42-year-old lived in East Oxford and Bicester for 15 years before moving to Buckingham, where he now lives with wife Michelle, who works at Tesco Superstore in Bicester.

Matt Walburn, brand and communications director at Dixons Carphone, which owns Currys PC World, said: “Our brilliant in-store colleagues are the real faces of our brand, so the fact that they’re the stars of our latest campaign allows us to truly showcase their expertise.

“Our chosen colleagues were a pleasure to work with and their enthusiasm really shines through on screen.”
