ABINGDON School headteacher Mike Windsor is among fundraisers preparing to abseil from Dorchester Abbey’s 100ft tower to raise cash for charity.
The abseil will take place on Saturday, April 29, at noon and those taking part will raise funds for the continued restoration of the abbey and for the Sue Ryder hospice in Nettlebed.
Rower Alex Gregory MBE, two-time Olympic Gold medallist from 2012 and 2016, is expected to be there on the day to start the abseil.
The abseil will take place during the Dorchester music festival, which runs from April 28 and May 7 and each year attracts about 3,000 people.
