GIRLS and parents filled the hall at Headington School to find out more about the wide range of opportunities in higher education.
The school hosted representatives from more than 30 universities from the UK, Australia, New Zealand and Canada, among other countries.
Girls also had the chance to hear about the UCAS procedure at the school, what makes an effective personal statement, how to apply for student finance and how to approach law, medicine, music, art architecture and drama school applications.
There was a joint presentation from three top London universities – King’s College London, the London School of Economics and Political Science and University College London.
Pupils and their parents were also given the opportunity to find out about the different application process involved in applying to overseas universities.
Oriel College admissions tutor Professor Lynne Cox spoke about the myths and facts surrounding an Oxbridge application.
She fielded questions about the academic profile expected of an applicant, and what interviewers are looking for.
Finally, Headingtonian and English degree finalist Rachael Henry spoke about life as an Oxford student, offering encouragement and advice to young people at the school who are considering applying to Oxford or Cambridge universities.
The annual event is always popular and gives girls at the school a chance to explore their options in detail before applying.
