A MILITARY-specialist university in Oxfordshire has become the first in the country to receive full certification from the UK Government intelligence bureau GCHQ.

Cranfield University in Shrivenham, near Faringdon, won the endorsement for its digital forensics course.

Course director Dr Sarah Morris said: “We are pleased that GCHQ has given us this certification after a tough and rigorous process.”

Cranfield Defence and Security is an ‘academic partner’ at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom at Shrivenham and specialises in post-graduate courses to the Ministry of Defence.

The university’s largest area of expertise is forensic science.
