A SCHOOL that had been told it needed to improve has been praised by Ofsted and handed a ‘good’ rating.
St Leonard’s Church of England Primary School was visited by an inspection team last month and handed the new rating at the start of the new year.
Inspectors praised its ‘ambitious leadership’ and good provision for children in the early years.
Pupils’ were deemed to be well behaved, reflective and highly caring towards each other.
The inspection report said: “Pupils who spoke to inspectors were very happy and self-confident in this supportive
and nurturing school
“Pupils respect others and get on well together. They conduct themselves well without
being prompted most of the time in and around the school, for example by helping
other children if they hurt themselves.”
The Banbury school has 407 pupils from the ages of three to 11.
