PLACES open for half term hubs from next week for parents to book their children in.

The holiday activities workshops are run throughout the school breaks by Cherwell District Council to encourage youngsters to become more active.

Booking open from 10am on Monday for February half term and are expected to fill up quick after last year saw the highest number of children take part.

Cherwell District Council deputy leader George Reynolds said: “The district’s school children are just getting used to being back at school after Christmas, but it’s not too soon to start looking forward to a happy half term holiday.

“It’s important to stay active and social at every stage of life, and the hubs are a great way to get children off the sofa and into the company of friends.

“Parents who may be out at work over half term can rest assured that their children are having fun while being looked after by DBS-checked staff.”

Sessions will run from Monday, February 13, and include activities such as dancing, dodgeball, tennis, cricket and archery.

The sessions will be hosted at North Oxfordshire Academy in Banbury and the Cooper School sport facility in Bicester.

Parents can chose between two workshops which run between either 8.45am to 3.00pm or a full session until 5pm.
