WORK to connect a new water mains is closing roads to traffic in Blewbury near Didcot.
South Street and Bessels Lea Road will both be affected when a temporary traffic order comes into effect on Monday, January 23.
South Street from its junction with Watt’s Lane north to Bessels Lea Road will be affected and Bessels Lea Road to its junction with Bridus Way.
The emergency services and residents will be exempt from the restrictions so they can get to their homes.
The alternative route for traffic affected by the closure is via the B4016 Bessel’s Way and the A417 London Road.
The work is expected to take seven weeks to complete, and traffic signs will be in place.
