EGGS will whoosh through the air as competitors attempt to catch and throw them in South Hinksey.
The quirky sporting event is one of many that will entertain families at the village fete on Sunday, September 11, as well as a race involving leaky buckets.
Residents are welcome at the fair from 12.30pm until 4pm at the field behind the village hall.
There will also be a bring and buy book sale, barbecue and a bouncy castle.
Profits will go to Oxford Citizens Advice and St Laurence Church.
