A FATHER from Cassington planning to swim the English Channel has had his challenge held up for the second time - but on this occasion it's the weather that's to blame.

Gardener Piers Lewis, 46, has spent two years training for the 22-mile swim and has raised £20,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.

He had planned to take part in the challenge last weekend but was delayed by traffic chaos in Kent.

Now, due to weather conditions, he has been held up again and might not complete the swim until Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.
