A SCHOOLBOY will see his "imaginative" drawings come to life after a developer decided it was good enough for its showhome.

Samuel Hunt, a year three pupil at Drayton Community Primary School, doodled a bedroom complete with stars and polka dots as part of Bloor Homes' competition to design a room in its new development in the village.

Vanessa Macnee, regional sales director for Bloor Homes, hailed Samuel's winning entry for its "imaginative design".

She added: "Samuel’s design showed us something unique which we know will look fantastic in the new showhome.

"It is now our job to make Samuel’s vision a reality and to do his design justice. We look forward to being able to welcome Samuel to the showhome when the design has been completed so he can explore his creation brought to life."

His bedroom design utilised bright and bold colours that she said would appeal to both boys and girls, with a bed harbouring clever storage space and a desk, and a bean bag for reading books on.

Marc Knight, head teacher at the school, said: "It’s a really exciting opportunity for Samuel to see his design replicated in real life and I know he’s excited about seeing his entry become a real bedroom."

Earlier this year the school's pupil Theo Puncher won the developer's competition to name its estate off High Street, now known as The Dovecote.
