A REMARKABLE community craft project that has taken an entire year to create will be on show this weekend.

The Faringdon Community Crochet Garden will be showing people around the unique flower garden, which will be displayed in the Corn Exchange in the town during Faringdon Folly Fest today and tomorrow.

The colourful garden has been made by volunteers crocheting flowers, leaves and garden wildlife.

Member of the group Nicky Brown said: "Experienced crocheters have come along to crochet with company and a cuppa, share their skills with the group and teach new crocheters, both young and old. It has been a free activity using donations of hooks, yarn and other materials.

"Local nursery and primary children have also made clay flowers or garden creatures which will be incorporated into the display.

"And Faringdon Shed, a woodworking club for retired men, have made display planters for the garden."

Many local businesses have also provided materials for free and the display will be sold off to raise money to support the activities run at The Pump House Project Charity.

The garden is open for viewing from 10am to 5pm today and 10am to 4pm tomorrow.
