THE door of a white van was ripped off as a bungling thief made a getaway in Boars Hill.
Thames Valley Police said the Ford transit was stolen from Chilswell Lane at about 2.25pm on Monday.
As it was being taken, the left-hand door and wheel trim were broken off when it hit a gatepost.
Police have appealed for witnesses who may have useful information about the theft.
Those with information should call 101.
