ENVIRONMENTAL and peace activist Satish Kumar will pay a visit to Oxford for his 80th birthday, travelling up from the source of the River Thames in Cirencester.
The arrival of the nuclear disarmament advocate, who once undertook an 8,000-mile peace pilgrimage from India to America to deliver 'peace tea' to world leaders, will coincide with celebrations at Oxford University's Worcester College for the 50th anniversary of green magazine Resurgence, which he has edited for 43 years.
Mr Kumar will arrive on Wednesday, September 21 for the festival, which will bring together 50 international speakers and performers.
