A COUPLE of long-standing residents in Bicester have named a new housing development Linden Lodge after winning a competition.
Henry and Jean Franklin, who have lived in the town for 44 years, chose a name "with a nice ring to it" for the Victoria Road build.
Plans will see 42 private retirement homes built with a video entry system and 24-hour support.
Churchill Retirement Living regional sales manager Rachel Walsh said: "Churchill Retirement Living likes to involve the local community in choosing the names for its developments and often does so by running a competition asking for suggestions.
"We received a vast number of entries for the new Bicester development and we are pleased to have awarded Mr and Mrs Franklin with their winning cheque."
The pair were awarded £100 and Linden Lodge is now due to open in the Autumn.
