PUPILS at Woodstock Primary School enjoyed a smooth path to healthy eating on Thursday as they pedalled their way towards a fitter lifestyle.

The students at the West Oxfordshire school enjoyed making their own fruity smoothies by jumping on an eco-friendly 'smoothie bike'.

They enjoyed a day of break-making, learning about healthy eating and even trying a few different foods.

The day was coordinated by company Food & More which provides meals to 112 schools in the country,

Food & More's Nicola Thompson said: "The children really enjoyed the smoothie bikes as they could see first-hand their pedalling produce a scrumptious end result that they can enjoy.

"These bikes are great as the children can get physical exercise that ultimately earns them a healthy treat."

She added: "We are always looking for fun and interesting ways to help educate children about healthy eating and they really enjoyed today's activities.

"One of the messages we wanted to get across is that a healthy diet during the early years means they stand a good chance of carrying these habits throughout their lives. In short, educating children on healthy eating can lay the path for a healthy life."
