TRINITY College in Broad Street has applied for planning permission to re-roof its dining hall and Durham Hall.
In an application to Oxford City Council, the college's architects Peter Smith said the existing roofs had deteriorated to the point where patching and partial re-slating are not stopping water from getting into the Grade-I listed building below.
The new roof will be designed to look exactly the same as the current one.
Members of public can see the full plans online at oxford.gov.uk using reference number 16/01502/LBC.
The city council is aiming to give the college a decision by Wednesday, August 3.
