HUNDREDS of people are set to race through the streets and green spaces of Blackbird Leys again this year with the return of the Blackbird Leys Mile.
Organisers from IWCA Athletics Club, which is based on the estate, have submitted a planning application to the parish council to hold the legendary fun run on Saturday, August 13. In its heyday in the 1980s the event attracted up to 500 local people.
If approved the event is set to begin in Blackbird Leys Park on the day. Registration details will be announced soon.
