The repatriation of a soldier who died in Afghanistan on Tuesday will take place next week.

The death of Signaller Ian Sartorius-Jones, of 20th Armoured Brigade’s Signal Squadron, was not the result of hostile action.

The plane carrying the 21-year-old’s body will land at RAF Brize Norton at about 12.30pm on Thursday.

The cortege is expected to pass the memorial garden on the edge of Carterton at 2.30pm and reach the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford an hour later.
