BUSINESSMEN in Wallingford are preparing to bare all in a risqué enterprise for charity.

The brave twelve will be modelling for a nude calendar to raise cash for charity.

Joy Holmes, owner of salon Classic Beauty in St Mary’s Street, was so inspired by the film Calendar Girls and the antics of members of the Women’s Institute that inspired it, that she came up with the idea of Calendar Guys.

She wants to produce a £5 calendar with 12 male businessmen or shop assistants from Wallingford, photographed marketing their wares in the buff.

The 50-year-old, who plans to ask the public to vote on who they think should represent each month before the calendar is finally produced, said: “I had the idea last year and I thought, because I’m doing a charity cycle ride in November, I could do this and raise some money for it and a local charity. Lots of women, wives and girlfriends will buy the calendar and I think it will be quite funny.

“So far, we’ve got men for nine out of the 12 months.

“The man from Down to Earth gave me £25 not to be in the calendar which I thought was great.

“The shots will be suggestive and provocative. Men have got less to cover up.

“For example, the man from the shoe repair shop will be behind his counter in just his pinny with a funny caption underneath it.”

She must raise £3,000 to take part in a charity cycle ride in Kenya, with Kenya Children’s Centres, a Warborough-based charity which rescues and cares for destitute orphan girls at its two children’s centres and health clinic in central Kenya.

Money will also go to the Wallingford Club for Disabled and Adults with Learning Difficulties.
