There was no shortage of help when police moved to their new station.
Police cadets were brought in on a Sunday to shift dozens of items from the old station in Church Green, Witney, to the new divisional headquarters in Welch Way in 1968.
The move took place just a month before Thames Valley Police came into existence and the old Oxfordshire force was consigned to history.
The old police station in Witney was retained by the police as a prosecutions office.
