I CAN put names to faces in the picture of Rose Hill community centre members arriving on a scooter at Cowley community centre open day in the ‘novel arrivals’ competition in 1968 (Memory Lane, August 22).
From left to right were Mr Medley, Mr Absolum, then myself, Nesta Parsons (née Morris), Philip Parsons, my sister, Christine Treadwell (née Morris), and Dave Parsons.
Philip and I were married in 1971.
I can remember it was quite a hot day as we scootered to Cowley, stopping on the way for some liquid refreshment.
It was jolly hard work as we kept losing parts from our scooter on the way and then had to stop for repairs!
My sister and I also took part in a keep fit display at the centre that afternoon.
It was all good fun.
