YOU printed a picture of the Morris Motors’ fire brigade displaying their trophies won in competitions (Memory Lane, July 11).
My late father, George Cusden, is one of those pictured.
As a child, I watched some of these competitions at the Crescent Road or Cowley Barracks sports fields.
It was great fun to watch, especially when the water was turned on and some of the hose connections came apart.
There were then frantic efforts to rejoin the pipes, with water spraying everywhere!
