JOAN Kitchen, five, appeared as a doll in a box in the fancy dress competition at St Aloysius School carnival in Oxford.
The carnival, organised by headmaster Anthony Gariff and art teacher Teresa Broad, was held annually at the school in St Margaret’s Road to bring together children, parents and teachers.
The carnival king in 1984 was Wilson Bhatti and the carnival queen was Annabelle Burt.
The day included a party with different kinds of international food, juggling, and singing and dancing by pupils.
