Mailbag: Do you recognise these rowing club members?
I ENCLOSE a photograph of two crews at the Oxford University & College Servants’ Rowing Club regatta in March 1936.
University College ‘B’ are nearest the camera, and Christ Church ‘B’ are furthest from the camera.
University College were the winners of this heat.
Les Long, former Oxford city policeman and landlord, is in seat three of the Christ Church boat. He noted that he “won a watch”.
Can anyone recognise or name any of the other oarsmen?
