Rail lovers get up full head of steam for show
Rail enthusiasts of all ages packed Cowley Parish Hall for Oxford and District Model Railway Club’s fifth annual one-day exhibition, which attracted a record 2,100 visitors in 1970.
Popular exhibits included a layout based on Watlington station and models of Wantage Tramway locomotives and rolling stock, all handmade.
The prize-winning exhibitors were Peter Hudson, Robert Chalmers, John Pomroy and John Peverel-Cooper.
