Villagers looked back on 50 years of life when they staged an exhibition to mark the golden jubilee of their village hall in 1971. Parish council chairman Mr F J Faulkner is pictured with Brownies Pamela Brown and Barbara Bolton and the display by Guides and Brownies.
Mrs Anthony Austin was invited to her old home, the Old Vicarage, to open the church fete in 1969. She is pictured with three-year-old Susan Hornlow, who was selling handkerchiefs. The fete included wheelbarrow and pram races, donkey rides and a comic dog show.
Neil Marten was invited to many opening ceremonies during his years as MP for North Oxfordshire, but he admitted in 1968 this was the first time he had been asked to open a car park.
