Sir – Christopher Gray’s vitriolic attack on Downton Abbey (October 4) is definitely beyond the pale. A very high percentage of viewers watch this series and gain much pleasure from doing so.
There’s no intention to deprive Gray of his personal opinion, it’s not what is said so much as how it’s said. What with the self-opinionated Gray seemingly getting more and more belligerent each week and your recent totally unjustified price hike, this regular reader of many years standing is seriously considering enough is enough and may well cease to take The Oxford Times.
