TWO major cancer research centres for Oxford costing £170m have been announced. One centre, costing £138m, will look at patients with early stage cancer while the other, costing £32m, will analyse medical data.

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust and the University of Oxford will be involved in the two projects.

No decision has been made yet on where the centres will be based. The schemes were given the go ahead after successful bids to the Government’s Research Partnership Investment Fund.
