I WOULD like to say a massive thank you to all the community members in Barton who helped me raise money for the Macmillan coffee morning event. There were so many different people with different stories and backgrounds and this shows how much togetherness there is, and this is what I would like to see more of.
Sadly, I do have to say that it was a pity that prominent community members did not attend, or offer some support, as they have always had support from myself. I am now asking myself what is it that these people are bringing into the community. I have always helped and supported community events, even though I am a carer for two members of my family and everything I do is voluntary.
It is in this community that my children will develop and so I will continue to make every effort to support whoever I can, whenever I can.
Once again, I would like to thank all those who attended and helped. While I live in this community I will try to make it better and give Barton a better name, not because I want something from it but because we are all equal and all deserve help, a chance to develop and respect in life.
