Older people were celebrated with a day of activities in Oxford.
Yesterday was National Older People’s Day, and an information day organised by the city council and the Oxford 50+ Network took place in Bonn Square.
Visitors were able to get advice about preparing for later life and enjoying the positive benefits of it from organisations from across Oxfordshire.
Among the activities available to visitors was a health walk, led by Bobbie Rowe, 62, who is spending her retirement volunteering in various different ways.
She said her walk had been fairly well attended, and included some familiar faces.
She said: “There were a few people and we had a nice walk. We did one of our usual routes, along the Thames Park.
“Those who came along really enjoyed it.”
