HORSPATH: A post mortem examination on farm worker Ian Simpson is due to take place today to find out how he died.
The 48-year-old of College Way died on Friday evening after he cut into an oil drum with an angle grinder.
The blast was heard across the village.
Mr Simpson was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital , but died later from his injuries.
As reported in yesterday’s Oxford Mail, Mr Simpson had been celebrating his brother Craig’s 46th birthday when the explosion happened.
Family members said he had been cutting the oil drum to try to make a bonfire container.
