A man  who ransacked his aunt and uncle’s house and then left the county to avoid community service has been given another chance.

Ben Parker broke into his relatives’ home in Brize Norton Road, Carterton, and “carried out a systematic attack on the property” after an argument, Oxford Crown Court heard on Friday.

The 20-year-old was originally sentenced in July last year and given a community order with supervision and 250 hours’ unpaid work.
But after completing just nine hours of the punishment, Parker moved from Carterton to Swindon, then to Chesham, in Buckinghamshire.

He was arrested last month and spent 30 days in Reading Young Offenders’ Institution on remand.

Judge Patrick Eccles sentenced Parker to nine months’ youth custody, suspended for two years, with 250 hours’ community work and two years’ supervision.
