IN response to Gordon Clack’s concern over the hypocrisy in Syria and his evident concern for human rights (Oxford Mail ViewPoints, July 13), could I ask him, through your columns to raise these concerns of mine with his constituency MP and Prime Minister David Cameron. These are: Why do the Palestinians have no rights and freedoms in Arab countries?

Should the Government be taking action over the increased suffering of Palestinian Christians because of the growing Islamisation in Gaza and the Palestinian-controlled areas?

Maybe in his political circles he could ask the question of why did the Palestinians launch a terror war against Israel which killed hundreds of lives, after they rejected Ehud Barak’s peace offer at Camp David in 2000 of a Palestinian state when they were offered 95 per cent of the disputed territories, including East Jerusalem?

Another question that he could ask is why is it that the Israeli Arabs who live and work in Israel are granted full citizenship and yet no Jews are allowed to live and work in the Palestinian territories?

This following question is directly addressed to Mr Clack – will you denounce Hamas who call for the destruction of Israel in their convent charter?

I am very glad that David Cameron supports Israel and is not swayed by unsubstantiated accusations of atrocities supposedly committed by Israel.

These accusations are very serious, so I challenge those that make these allegations to prove it with concrete facts that can be corroborated from a genuine and authentic source.

Finally, returning to Gordon Clack’s concern over the hypocrisy over Syria, the thought has struck me that if Israel ever committed the murderous acts that the Assad regime has committed, then I am pretty certain that there would be mass demonstrations in London – and yet there have been no demonstrations on behalf of those suffering for their human rights in Syria by those that will readily protest against Israel – yes, I certainly do see a double standard and hypocrisy in evidence here.
