OXFORD United supporters’ trust OxVox has backed new club chairman Ian Lenagan.

Mr Lenagan met OxVox chairman Mark Sennett at the Kassam Stadium during an open day on Saturday.

Former chairman Kelvin Thomas stepped down after four years in charge on Friday.

“The committee is looking forward to working with Mr Lenagan and we appreciate him taking the time to contact us so soon after his appointment.

"We are in the process of finalising a committee meeting with him and once this is arranged we will invite members to submit questions.”

Mr Lenagan said: “It was great to meet so many fans at the open day and I was overwhelmed by the goodwill and the welcome I was given.

“I was pleased to meet Mark Sennett of OxVox and have an informal chat with him, and I am looking forward to working with them in the future.”

Thousands of people attended the open day, which included a chance to meet the club’s latest signings and buy the new kit.
