CANCER Research UK’s fundraising Relay For Life, which was due to take place this weekend, has been cancelled due to the wet weather.
The 24-hour event at Witney Rugby Club, due to start at noon on Saturday, was set to see hundreds of people take part in a continuous relay round the pitch at the club's ground in Hailey Road.
Charity spokesman Helen Johnstone said: “We are very sorry for any disappointment and inconvenience caused.
“The health and safety of our participants has to come first, so we hope everyone understands why we have had to do it.”
Sunday’s Race for Life event in Oxford is still set to go ahead.
Further information is available by calling the Relay For Life hotline on 08716 412602.
