Sir – Yesterday, I received a hand-delivered advertisement entitled ‘Barton Development, Oxford’ on one side and ‘have your say’ on the other, purporting to come from Barton Oxford LLP, and providing a website address that is non-functional.
It announced that there would be several sessions later this week and next week in the Barton Neighbourhood Centre, “where you can work with our team to examine some of the key issues” relevant to the proposed new development.
Since the deadline for submitting statements to the Inspector currently considering the soundness of this plan was June 28, one has to wonder about the choice of dates for these several sessions.
Given enough local involvement, one could anticipate that the people of Barton might well raise many issues the inspector should be aware of, issues that are most likely to impact negatively on the people who now live in Barton.
Ray Guillery, Barton
