Sir – To lose one project, the Cogges Link road, is unfortunate for the Tory-run county council. To lose two projects, with this Kidlington super-recycling site (Report, July 5) is beginning to look careless. But if it means continuing to allow the public to use the Redbridge recycling centre seven days a week, there may be a silver lining after all.
What we need now is a commitment from the new Tory leader, councillor Ian Hudspeth, that the Ardley recycling centre will remain open and that Redbridge will become a super-recycling centre instead.
While he’s at it, councillor Hudspeth should drop the threatened ban on the public using the popular Oxford centre during the week.
John Tanner, Board member for a Cleaner, Greener Oxford, City councillor for Littlemore & County Councillor for Isis
