A TEENAGER who robbed a takeaway delivery driver has been locked up.
Cameron Nicholls attacked Pizza Hut employee Omar Khan and tried to set his dog on him.
The 18-year-old was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court on Monday after earlier admitting one count of robbery. Nicholls, of Bodley Place, North Oxford, was with two friends when he set upon Mr Khan in nearby Buckler Road on December 16.
Prosecutor Cathy Olliver said Nicholls, who had been drinking all day, initially asked for food before trying unsuccessfully to set his dog on the delivery driver and punching him in the head.
Mr Khan said he handed over about £100 in cash to stop the attack and Nicholls was found with £70 stuffed in his underwear when he was arrested shortly afterwards.
The court heard Nicholls had “shown a high level of remorse” since the incident.
Judge Patrick Eccles sent him to a young offenders’ institution for 15 months.
