SO MUCH raised, yet so far to go.
The Ashmolean has done a fantastic job in raising more than £7.2m towards the £7.83m it needs to secure the discounted purchase of Manet’s Portrait of Mademoiselle Claus.
It has a proportionately small amount to go but there is a real fear this outstanding £595,000 may be the hardest hump to get over.
It is down to the community to show if it values having this piece of art in our city.
