A 36-year-old man suffered a broken nose and cheekbone after he was beaten with a child’s baseball bat in Witney.
The victim, who lives in the town, was attacked between 9.30pm and 10pm on Sunday in Mirfield Road on his way home from the Rowing Machine pub.
A 28-year-old man from Witney arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm has been released on bail until August 17.
